Tree national Day in CONGO

Celebration of National Tree Day in Congo:  
Since 1986, the Republic of Congo has set the day of tree where the Congolese people plant trees. This day was celebrated at first every February 6 of year. But in the 90s, the date was postponed to November 6 of each year. 
 
The 24th edition of National tree Day hs been celebrated on Saturday November 6, 2010 and was honored by APEDJ/AFEYD.For this purpose APEDJ/AFEYD has planted 50 trees. 
 
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE NATIONAL DAY OF TREE: 
Its importance is the safeguarding of natural forest through popular reforestation. 
This day has three (3) objectives: 
1/-To integrate the tree in the socio-economic cultural and development strategies; 
2/-To Prevent the consequences of degradation of forest ecosystems; 
3/- To Promote culture of tree in the Congo.
